Safety Tips
Last updated: July 2026
Your safety is our priority. While we work hard to keep Unicorn Dating secure, no online platform can guarantee the intentions of every user. Please read and follow these guidelines whenever you use the platform or meet someone from it.
1. Protect Your Personal Information
Never share your home address, workplace, financial details, government ID numbers, or passwords with someone you have met on the platform, no matter how well you feel you know them. Keep conversations on the platform until you have built sufficient trust, and consider using a video call before agreeing to meet in person.
2. Take Your Time Getting to Know Someone
Genuine connections rarely require rushing. Be cautious of anyone who pressures you to move off the platform quickly, declares strong feelings very early, or avoids video calls or phone conversations. Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, it is okay to end the conversation or block the user.
3. Meeting In Person Safely
- Always meet for the first time in a busy, public place, such as a café or restaurant.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be back. Share your live location with them if possible.
- Arrange your own transportation to and from the date rather than relying on the other person.
- Stay sober enough to remain aware of your surroundings, and keep your phone charged.
- Trust your gut — you are free to leave at any time if you feel uncomfortable.
4. Recognizing Scams & Fraud
Romance scams are unfortunately common on dating platforms. Be alert to these warning signs:
- A new contact professes strong feelings very quickly and then asks for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or your banking details;
- Requests to "invest" in a trading platform, business opportunity, or move the conversation to a different app;
- A profile with very few photos, inconsistent details, or a claimed location that constantly changes (for example, claiming to be traveling or working overseas);
- Refusal to meet in person or appear on a video call.
Never send money, gift cards, or financial information to anyone you meet on Unicorn Dating. We will never ask you for payment outside of the official billing flow in your account settings.
5. Reporting Suspicious Behavior
If a member makes you feel unsafe, harasses you, asks you for money, or otherwise violates our Terms of Use, please use the in-app "Report" or "Block" option on their profile or conversation, or contact us directly at . Our team reviews reports and takes action, which may include warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform. See our Misconduct Prevention Policy for details. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services first.
6. Keeping the Community Adults-Only
Unicorn Dating is for adults aged 18 and over only. If you believe a profile belongs to a minor, please report it immediately using the in-app reporting tool or by emailing so we can investigate and remove the account.
7. Additional Resources
For more information, review our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Misconduct Prevention Policy. If you or someone you know is affected by fraud, consider reporting it to your local consumer protection or law enforcement agency in addition to reporting it to us.
